Chris Sutton has backed Manchester United to be comfortably beaten at home to Fulham in the FA Cup fifth round on Sunday afternoon (4:30pm).

The Reds narrowly beat Leicester City in the previous round, with Harry Maguire's late winner controversially allowed to stand, despite being offside. It followed their third round win over Arsenal on penalties, despite being down to ten men for the majority of the clash against Mikel Arteta's team.

United were also forced to play with ten men last time out in the Premier League after Patrick Dorgu's red card against Ipswich Town. Ruben Amorim's side ultimately came out on top with a hard-fought 3-2 win on Wednesday night.

But former Chelsea striker Sutton believes any momentum gathered from their midweek victory against Ipswich will be in vain. The pundit has shared his view that United's FA Cup defence will end on Sunday with a comfortable 3-0 defeat at home to the Cottagers.

"I am sick of backing Manchester United," he told BBC Sport. "Even though they beat Ipswich on Wednesday, they did not half make hard work of it and the Tractor Boys ran them close at Old Trafford.

"Alejandro Garnacho appeared to have a bit of a hissy fit after being hooked before half-time, so it will be interesting to see how Ruben Amorim deals with that. "He won't have any players left at this rate if he decides to leave Garnacho out.

"United are the FA Cup holders and they have beaten Fulham home and away already this season but on both occasions it was far from convincing, and I don't really care about that anyway.

"Amorim is a likeable guy, and I've got sympathy for him about the size of his task at Old Trafford but, from watching United, I cannot think of any reason to back them to win this.

"I am usually wrong about Fulham, but they are going to take this one - 100%." United are back in Premier League action when they play Arsenal on March 9.

Between the visit of the Gunners to Old Trafford, they will play Real Sociedad in the first leg of their Europa League round of 16 tie against Real Sociedad in Donostia-San Sebastian on march 6.
